About Talmo
A one-person computer vision consultancy with more than a decade of hands-on experience. Four common ways to get started: prototyping, collaboration, turnkey product work, or a joint venture.

JAKOB KIRKEGAARD, Computer Vision Specialist
Before turning to computer vision full-time, Jakob Kirkegaard spent years in hands-on engineering roles, including vision-guided robotics and automation systems at Grundfos and Image House, and co-founding IH Automation to build vision-based robotic systems for industrial production. That was followed by several years as lead developer for the audio and video decoding components of large, fault-tolerant C++ server systems for data-crime investigation and telecom diagnostics at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence. That industry experience is paired with an M.Sc.E. in Software Engineering, Computer Vision and Graphics from Aalborg University.
The combination keeps Talmo's work grounded in both academic rigor and production reality, bridging the gap between early research and robust, testable, maintainable software. Ongoing research collaborations have also produced several peer-reviewed publications.
Ways to work together
That background shapes four common ways of getting started with Talmo:
Prototyping
If you have an idea about bringing computer vision or machine learning into your product, but are unsure about the possibilities, Talmo can help you develop a prototype or perform a feasibility study. Typically, the work results in a written report concluding the applicability of vision technology to your product area.
Collaborative development
Talmo often takes part in existing development projects at customer sites, e.g. for implementing specific parts related to data analysis or for optimizing performance critical areas. Whether you expect the need for an extra hand down the road or have suddenly realized your need, email is welcome.
Product development
If you need a turnkey system that just works and do not want to take part in the implementation, Talmo delivers these. Talmo has a network of collaborating companies for quickly scaling both software and hardware development efforts if needed.
Joint ventures
Perhaps you have a great idea involving computer vision, augmented reality, data analysis or simply software development, but lack the resources for realizing it. If Talmo also believes in the idea, it might be able to help you tailor a way forward.
